Portable Appliance Testing is a statutory requirement and ensures your compliance with The Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) and The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

This covers all portable electrical appliances with a plug attached, such as computers, kettles, photocopiers, hand held power tools, fans and much more.

PAT Testing is now required by many insurance companies and is usually requested by Fire Officers and Health and Safety Inspectors.

Do I need my PAT testing at my premises?

The Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) places such an obligations in the following circumstances:

Where appliances are used by employees.

Where the public may used appliances in establishments such as hospitals, schools, hotels, shops etc.

Where appliances are supplied or hired.

Where appliances are repaired or serviced.
